Flooding is a long-standing issue in the Lower 9th Ward. Our Green Infrastructure Program helps reduce flooding through the installation of French drains, native plants, and permeable pavement.
We partner with Water Wise Gulf South, a collective of community-based organizations working together to educate, empower, and implement green infrastructure across the region.
L9WHA is proud to be a founding member of Water Wise Gulf South’s collective, joining other neighborhood associations across New Orleans to lead the way in climate resilience and sustainable growth.
